POR"T" FAVOR
WHAT IS POR”T” FAVOR?
Port Favor is a goodwill initiative undertaken by Tango Port. Its name comes from the Spanish expression “por favor.” We reinterpret this phrase through its original meaning of “favor” or “kindness.” Rather than simply saying “please,” we choose to say “for kindness” — and by combining this with our own name, we arrived at Port Favor.
This transformation is not merely a play on words; it reflects our stance on how we live tango, how we think, and how we share. Because for us, tango is not just a dance — it is also a spirit, a philosophy, a history, a form of literature, and a way of thinking.
Port Favor was born to make this multilayered world visible, tangible, and shareable. Our aim is to approach tango from different perspectives and to convey it as a living culture and a language of expression.
Port Favor is a non-profit initiative. Through seminars, educational programs, film screenings, the Port Library, and Por”t” Favor Magazine, we engage with both the inner and social dimensions of tango.
