Tango Port is a unique event space that carries the warm spirit of Latin American culture. With its spacious 600 m² layout, it offers visitors plenty of room to move, connect, and create, while its interior design evokes the authentic atmosphere of Buenos Aires.
Our Venue
While our venue draws inspiration from the music, dance, and lifestyle of Argentine Tango, it is designed as a versatile space capable of hosting not only tango but all dance styles as well as non-dance events. Open to a wide range of disciplines—from events and performances to workshops and talks—Tangoport welcomes everyone who places creativity and sharing at the heart of their work.
Our original 250 m² solid laminated parquet dance floor, combined with a professional-grade surface structure, table seating arrangements, and armchair-style chairs, offers an ideal setting for milongas, performances, and special events. With a secondary hall dedicated to group activities, spacious and comfortable women’s and men’s changing rooms equipped with lockable lockers, and thoughtfully designed relaxation areas, comfort is prioritized in every detail.
Technical Features
One of the venue’s most remarkable features is its high-quality ventilation system. With 15 air exchanges per hour and 50% fresh air renewal, complemented by constant humidity control, the system ensures a healthy and refreshing atmosphere for every event.
Our premium sound system offers an enjoyable listening experience throughout the venue, allowing guests in other areas to still follow the music playing in the main hall.
Café and Other Areas
Designed for guests who wish to enjoy a sweet break, our café and bar area features a professional bar offering high-quality food and beverages, an elegant buffet, and a rich menu ranging from hot drink selections to signature mocktails. Bag hooks placed under tables and at the bar are small yet functional details that enhance comfort. Credit card–enabled entry and sales options are also available throughout the venue.
Another feature that supports the visitor experience is our free phone charging station (Charging Port) with a capacity for 16 devices. In addition, hygienic restrooms (2 women + 2 men) with touchless sinks ensure a clean and comfortable experience, while hair dryers located in both the changing rooms and wash areas add an extra layer of convenience. A dedicated smoking room provides a separate space for guests who smoke, without compromising indoor comfort.
DALI lighting systems used throughout the halls and corridors allow light intensity to be adjusted according to each event, creating the appropriate atmosphere for every type of organization.
For those interested in tango dance and culture, the indoor Tango Library and Galería Del Port offer distinctive cultural spaces. At Galería Del Port, specially designed tango clothing, shoes, and gift items are displayed, further enriching the tango experience.

Mafalda: A Cartoon Classic
Mafalda is a comic strip created by Argentine cartoonist Quino (Joaquín Salvador Lavado Tejón), published between 1964 and 1973, featuring social and political satire. The main character, Mafalda, is a six-year-old, highly intelligent and sensitive girl. While making readers both laugh and think, she addresses deep topics such as humanity, world peace, inequality, and politics through profound dialogues.
Characteristics of Mafalda
Mafalda raises simple but powerful questions about issues even adults struggle to understand. Often putting her family in difficult situations with her questions, she shows how unique and conscious she is. For example, in one scene, she asks about communism in China, but her family wants her to focus on childish things. She then pretends to play with soap bubbles but quickly brings the topic back to China. This humorous yet meaningful approach is a fundamental element of the comic.
Character Traits:
- Sensitive to human rights, justice, and world peace.
- Inquisitive and intellectual.
- Devoted to her family but frequently critiques their way of thinking.
- Hates soup, symbolizing her individual rebellion.
- Has a strong sense of humor but also a serious and somewhat pessimistic outlook.
Other Characters
The comic is not just about Mafalda. Over time, other child characters representing different worldviews emerged around her, carrying views that contrast or complement Mafalda’s thoughts. These characters were not deliberately designed as a conscious group but appeared as the story developed.
- Susanita: A traditional housewife dreaming of motherhood, often in disagreement with Mafalda.
- Manolito: Has a capitalist mindset, works in his father’s grocery store, and is money-oriented.
- Felipe: A dreamer who dislikes homework, with fears and indecisiveness.
- Miguelito: Asks philosophical questions but has a somewhat confused mindset.
- Libertad: Represents the theme of “freedom.” Though small in stature, her ideas are big.
- Guille: Mafalda’s little brother, introduced when Quino ran out of new ideas. Cute but sometimes sharp-tongued.
Cultural Impact
Mafalda has made a significant impact in Latin America. It has also gained wide popularity in Spanish-speaking countries, Europe, Quebec, and Asia. The character’s popularity has inspired books, cartoons, and various social campaigns. Particularly in Italy and Spain, Mafalda is considered a “cultural icon.”
Through this comic, Quino critiqued the social and political atmosphere of the 1960s and 70s using children’s voices but a highly effective language. Mafalda is not just a cartoon character; she is a symbol of resistance, a voice of critical thinking, and an adult world critique through a child’s perspective.
